What A Flooring Consult Covers
A flooring consult is the step that keeps a project from turning into guesswork. Before any material is ordered, Guild Wright walks your rooms with you and turns a long list of options into a clear plan.
Here is what that visit usually covers:
How each room is used, including pets, kids, traffic, and moisture
Which materials fit those rooms, from hardwood and engineered hardwood to LVP, laminate, carpet, and tile
Colour, grain, and finish that work with your cabinets, walls, and light
Stairs, transitions, and other finish carpentry that should match the floors
The condition of the subfloor, and whether repair or prep is needed first
Whether existing hardwood can be refinished instead of replaced
You do not have to decide on the spot. We can also produce space renderings so you can see a style in your own rooms before you commit. That is useful when two finishes look similar in a sample but feel very different once they cover a whole floor.
A consult is also where budget and timing get honest. We talk through what a full install involves, what prep adds, and which choices stretch the life of the floor without overspending. If a room only needs refinishing or a repair, we will say so.
Bring photos of styles you like, or just the problems you want gone. Scratches, squeaks, cold tile, or a dated finish are all enough to start.
